Our Work

We have experience in A-dec, Pelton & Crane, DentalEZ, Marus, Belmont, Forest, Royal, Boyd, Craftmaster, Midmark, Proma, Westar, Dansereau, Kavo, Ritter, SS White, Chase Virginia and a multitude of other manufacturers of dental units. For exam/surgical tables, we have experience with Ritter/Midmark and many specialty/custom-made benches for pediatric dental, orthodontic, chiropractic, and medical needs.

We address the upholstery needs of the unit; however, while doing that, we also lubricate moving parts, replace hardware if needed and point out any areas of concern. With 40 years of experience, Walt’s has worked on almost every make and model in the industry. We still provide upholstery for the older SS White, Dental EZ J and Ritter series of chairs. If you feel the motors and mechanics are in good working condition and warrant a new re-upholstery job (lasting another 10 years), we are happy to help.

Customization

Meeting your requested needs is our top priority. A majority of the time, we simply replace the torn upholstery. We can do pieces and parts as an entire upholstery replacement for an operatory unit or exam table is not always required. We match to the existing upholstery vinyl or Ultraleather™ if it is still available.

If you are trying to match an old operatory chair to a newer one, we do our best to match top-stitching layout and design along with the same fabric. The picture below is an old Dansereau chair (in brown) and was part of a remodel and move where we matched the new material (Ultraleather™ Diplomat) and top-stitching to the newer Forest operatory that the practice had ordered. We also do the opposite. If the operational structure of the chair allows us to, we can remove the topstitching lines and make the upholstery a more “easy-clean” finish.

Repair Work

Walt’s also has experience in re-building seat bases that have cracked due to age or over-use. If the operatory structure is such that a plastic seat base sits on a steel U-Frame, sometimes the plastic base will break or crack, causing extreme pressure on the vinyl covering as the foam underneath pushes through the cracked area. We convert the plastic seat base to a ¾” plywood base. Unfortunately in this case, not only the base has to be replaced, but the foam and vinyl/Ultraleather™ covering as well. Please refer to the video showing this process on Walt’s Fine Upholstery Facebook Page.
